A RECENT CONVERSATION ON BRANDING…

I recently had a conversation with a client about email marketing, and she expressed how overwhelming it can feel. She described the decision fatigue she experiences every time she tries to create a newsletter, especially with so many design choices available, even when using templates from platforms like Flodesk or Canva.

She also shared her admiration for an artist whose emails she receives, noting how instantly recognizable they are as coming from that artist. This got me thinking about the power of branding! So, I suggested we analyze those emails together to discover what strategies this artist is using that she hasn’t considered.

After talking through these key elements, it came up that she had never established any branding for her business. When she launched her brand, she created a logo just using her business name and chose a few colors she liked, but there was no comprehensive design process involved. I realized that she had never been equipped with the tools to present her brand cohesively, effectively, and effortlessly.

Effective branding is a thorough process that delves into understanding your brand's personality. It prompts you to consider the emotions you wish to evoke in your audience. This process encompasses much more than merely choosing colors and fonts; it brings together various design elements and details that distinctly convey "your brand" to the world.

This conversation highlighted the value of investing in proper branding! By collaborating with a designer to establish your brand effectively, you only need to go through the work of defining your branding once. After that, you won’t have to make design choices repeatedly. This leads to seamless presentation of your messages without the hassle of constant decision-making.

Consider the time and energy this client would save with a clear vision of how they want their business to be perceived. Every email, website update, social media post, and more would become effortless from a design standpoint. No more decision fatigue—just focusing on their message.

If you're uncertain about the value of branding, I hope this example illustrates just how helpful it is to invest in effective branding!
